About Us

Dr. Chas. G. Allen founded Chas. G. Allen Co. in 1874. The company manufactured the Yankee hay rake and other horse-drawn farm equipment. In 1904, it made its first upright sensitive drilling machine and has produced over 36,000 machines to date. The company earned the Army/Navy Production Award for manufacturing excellence in support of the war effort. Chas. G. The Chas. G. Allen company purchased Harper Surface Finishing Systems, Inc. in 2000 and remains the current OEM for all Harper product lines. Harper's process development and test facilities are available to evaluate your parts.
